The Big Help Out
Get involved!
This May volunteering will be taking the centre stage to mark the King’s Coronation. The Big Help Out is a national campaign to highlight the wide range of volunteering opportunities available across local communities and the fantastic work that volunteers do. Through The Big Help Out website people will be able to search for ways to get involved, try new things and hopefully go on to form lasting relationships.
Your charity or community group might want to offer:
- ‘Get involved’ events for people to try-out an activity
- Community clean-ups, swap shops or planting
- Information hubs or celebration events
Registering your activity is easy. Just head to The Big Help Out and fill out the simple form. From the 20th of March the list of opportunities will ‘go live’ and members of the public will be able to search for the perfect activity for them.
How can OCVA support you?
At OCVA we are happy to help you think about ideas for the day, put you in touch with others who are arranging activities and help you raise the profile of your event.
The Oxfordshire Lieutenancy will be supporting events across Oxfordshire – could you benefit from a Deputy Lieutenant joining you? www.oxfordshire-lieutenancy.org
We will be providing ongoing advice via the Volunteer Coordinators Forum and will be hosting a webinar to hear more about the day and share some inspiring ideas.
