The OCVA team have been out and about across Oxfordshire this week, with Angela, John, Clare and Josh visiting Cherwell District Council’s fantastic Community Pop Up Space in the Castle Quay Shopping Centre to connect with local voluntary and community groups and partners.
Angela and John spoke to a number of groups, including Bicester Pride, Clean Slate and Oxfordshire Mind, about sources of funding, using our online funding search tool*. They also answered questions about setting up organisations and getting governance right.
Clare and Josh were there to talk about the Communities of Practice for people working and volunteering with adults who draw on adult social care and the Community Connections project, which supports prison leavers to engage with groups in their local communities.
Thanks to Jaz for popping in to talk to us about the importance of NHS Health Checks for Oxfordshire residents, to Jackie for sharing an update on all the amazing work that Age UK Oxfordshire is doing in Cherwell District, and to Lisa from our partner organisation Community First Oxfordshire for joining us. Huge thanks also go to Paul of Cherwell District Council’s Community Services team for organising the day.
