What is Volunteer Connect?

Volunteer Connect was established April 2012 as a project of Citizens Advice.

Its purpose is to broker between potential volunteers and volunteer opportunity providers in and around the Cherwell district.

Volunteer Connect provides support for opportunity providers looking to recruit volunteers and to people looking to become volunteers.

What happens when as an orgainsation you contact Volunteer Connect for some assistance with volunteer recruitment?

Firstly we’d explain how our wonderful FREE service works.
We’d point you towards https://oxonvolunteers.org/index-classic a countywide volunteering website.
We’d then talk to you about placing an advert on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/volunteerconnect.org.uk
A few lines about your organisation and the volunteer opportunity is all we need.
We’d turn that into an advert and send it for your approval
Once approved we circulate that advert in your geographical area, on average to over 3,500 people

About three weeks later we contact you to find out if the advert was successful, if not we are happy to make amendments and try again

How successful was Volunteer Connect volunteer recruitment on Facebook over 2022/23?

VC placed 93 adverts

VC reached 335,450 newsfeeds

Our adverts had 9,250 engagements

53 volunteers were recruited into amazing organisations

Those 53 volunteers will do around 4,000 hours of volunteering over the course of the year

95 potential volunteers have signed up to the Oxfordshire Volunteers website during 2022/23.
