MuzoAkademy II is taking part in a project with Oxford University and Oxford Brookes called Science Together which pairs community groups with world class researchers to identify and solve problems within a community.
Our project is called Music2GetherOX and what our researchers are looking at is the effects of music practice on creativity, confidence and overall well-being. Our project is due to start on the 26th June 2023 and now that our ethics have been cleared, we are offering places for people to take part. There’s 10 sessions in total which will be held at Headington Hill Hall, they’re absolutely free of charge, all music equipment is provided and the participants do not have to have any previous musical experience.
Work with professional musicans, be in a band, perform live and be a part of an innovative study working with researchers from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes looking at music and wellbeing.
The only stipulation is that participants have to be over 18 due to the research side of the project which comes in the form of questionnaires (one at the beginning of the project and one at the end) and a short interview, very relaxed and informal.
