This role is an integral member of the sales team overseeing the Saturday sales team and occasional volunteers to run a dynamic day of retail, assisting customers with choosing materials, processing sales and re-sizing materials. Necessary training is provided.

To contribute to the sales team at OWR in delivering high quality customer service and maximising Saturday sales of timber, manufactured and ancillary products.
o Overseeing sales operations and the sales team on Saturdays, in line with Company policy.
o Serving customers at the sales desk and in the warehouse.
o Maximising staff productivity & supporting colleagues.
o Clearly record and process orders for manufacture, wood processing and delivery.
o Cutting timber to size for customers, using bench equipment.
o Maintaining a clean and tidy sales floor.
o Responding to sales enquiries by phone, email, Facebook and all communication channels.
o Pricing of wood in line with similar pieces or policy.
o Ensuring shelf display of small items are stocked.
o To normally open and close the Warehouse.
o Cash-up at the end of the day.
o Ensure the building is secure.
o Work with the H&S Officer to implement safe working practices on site (training given).
Customer service skills and experience.
An interest in wood and woodworking.
Ability after training, to operate a till and credit card machine.
Ability to safely lift and carry timber and panels.
Administration skills and experience.
Computer and social media literate.
