We had a great online meeting this month for the forum, well attended by 22 people who all support or line manage volunteers in some way.
We welcomed Imogen Coningsby, Health Improvement Practitioner who gave a talk on the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training. This was well received by the group, and I am told several participants have contacted Imogen directly about more training.
I gave an update on our upcoming volunteer fair plans, our work on employee or corporate volunteering matching service, promoting Christmas volunteering and reminded the group they can still access the recording of the Youth Volunteering Webinar.
We then had questions from the group on areas such as DBS services, student, and Christmas volunteering.
We are always looking for speakers and venues to hold in person meetings, specifically in Vale of the White Horse or West Oxfordshire. If you think you could offer a short talk or a venue, please contact me directly.
December’s meeting will be a festive gathering at OCVA’s training room The Source on Thursday 14th 2-4pm. All welcome to this event but please sign up on this link.
