Are you already running a WordPress website and want to get the best from it? Unsure of how to make your site work better? Want to learn more about how to manage your site effectively?

This is a practical, interactive course designed to help you make your WordPress site more effective. It combines real-life experience of managing websites and using the latest technologies. Techniques for using WordPress and how you can utilise functions will also be covered.

The course includes a troubleshooting clinic to address your specific issues.

Trainer Profile

Roger Christiansen is a part-time Lecturer at Abingdon & Witney College, a writer and blogger, plus a Marketing and Communications Consultant working with a number of local charities.

He has spent most of his career as a marketing professional working in hi-tech companies big and small; from start-ups like Research Machines to global brands Ricoh and IBM. He has extensive experience of setting up and managing a digital presence for the companies he has worked for.

Roger is trained in WordPress and has setup and manages a wide variety of sites including a local school (praised by Ofsted), two local charities and a charity events site.

You will leave the session with knowledge of how to use WordPress and site tools most effectively. You’ll also learn some “tricks of the trade” and advanced tools for improving your website.

The session is interactive and hands on, including a troubleshooting clinic to help with specific queries.

Who should attend?

This session is appropriate for charity employees or volunteers who run or are involved in managing a WordPress website.

It assumes familiarity with the basics of WordPress (e.g. how to create posts and pages, how to customise themes).

1.45pm arrival for tea, coffee and networking for a 2pm start. The workshop will finish by 5pm.

Cost:

£70 per person for OCVA Members
£80 per person from a charitable organisation who are not OCVA members
£95 per person from a non-charitable organisation
