• The Charity and Volunteer Awards 2018 co-ordinated by OCVA were held in June and were a great success with 42 individual volunteers awards and 11 awards for community groups.  The awards were sponsored by a variety of companies and organisations, more details can be found here https://ocva.org.uk/sponsors-of-the-ocva-charity-and-volunteer-awards/
        • We have thanked OCVA sponsors and supporters who made it possible for us to stage the Oxfordshire Charity and Volunteer Awards at a tea party. We all gathered for tea and cake and heard about the impact the awards have made to charities and volunteers in the county.

Pictured: Andrew Baker from Play2Give who couldn’t attend the awards because he was at a garden party at Buckingham Palace. He is seen here receiving his award from Tim Stevenson OBE, Lord Lieutenant. Andrew has dedicated half his life to supporting local causes having started fundraising at 14 for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, where he spent a lot of his childhood after being born with a brain injury. Over the last 16 years, during which time he set up Play2Give,  he has raised over £90,000 with the help and support of his team who are inspired by his passion, dedication, determination and drive to help others.
