Digital Needs Survey – results

Back in January we asked you to tell us about your digital needs – do you have the devices you need, are your volunteers well equipped and what kind of digital support or training would be most helpful to you?

40 different groups and organisations responded and the results give a really interesting snapshot of the challenges we are facing. It’s clear that digital devices are now a core part of delivering services for our communities. Some organisations are still struggling to access sufficient laptops and tablets for their work and there is an ongoing interest in digital inclusion and ensuring everyone can access the opportunities that being online provides.

The stand out statistic for me was that 75% of respondents said that they felt they would benefit from additional training or support on how to use devices and remote services. The range of different tech tools and solutions that are available to us can often feel overwhelming and it’s easy to become frustrated by technology, rather than empowered.

In response to this feedback, we’ve included some ideas about where we’d like to go next (we’re particularly excited by our digital buddies!), but we’re open to your ideas and suggestions too. Get in touch through: communications@ocva.org.uk

We’d also like to hear your ideas for future short survey topics that can help us serve you better.
