Fire Safety Awareness – Level 1

The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (QCF) is a  nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace.

Candidates will learn basic fire safety principles in order to ensure they are keeping themselves and others in the workplace safe at all times. They will also learn what to do in the event of an emergency and the simple measures that can be taken to control the risk of fires.

With subjects covered in just half a day, this course is an ideal way to ensure that all employees have a good understanding of fire safety.

By the end of this session you will have an improved awareness of:

  • Causes of fires in the workplace
  • The costs of fires in the workplace for employers, employees, volunteers and society
  • Basic fire safety duties and responsibilities
  • Actions to be taken in the event of a fire
  • Principles of fire risk control
  • Key elements of fire risk management
  • The fire triangle and controlling fire risks
  • Active and passive risk control measures
  • Fire prevention measures
  • Safe use of portable fire-fighting equipment
  • Fire equipment safety checks

  • £70 per person for OCVA Members
  • £80 per person from a charitable organisation who are not OCVA members
  • £95 per person from a non-charitable organisation

Please note there are two steps to this process and both steps of the process will need to be completed to secure your place.

  1. Complete the Google bookings form and register your details
  2. Make payment via PayPal within two working days of registering for the course. We’re using PayPal for this event. Select ‘pay with a debit or credit card ‘ if you don’t have a PayPal account (there’s no need to sign in to PayPal).
