Our volunteers spend time with anyone in Abingdon who is elderly, ill or disabled, single parents and young mothers, or anyone who may be isolated or lonely. Our volunteers do not have any special training, but may be able to help by, for example, visiting and befriending, writing letters, collecting prescriptions, shopping, or helping people use email and the internet.

In particular if there was a family we could adopt for up to 6 months, we would be glad to help with looking at material needs when housed, help with finding services such as schools, college, doctor registration, help with language, possibly suitable employment applications.
