The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace.
Candidates will learn basic fire safety principles in order to ensure they are keeping themselves and others in the workplace safe at all times. They will also learn what to do in the event of an emergency and the simple measures that can be taken to control the risk of fires.
With subjects covered in just half a day, this course is an ideal way to ensure that all employees/volunteers have a good understanding of fire safety.

- Basic fire safety duties and responsibilities
- Actions to be taken in the event of a fire
- Safe use of a portable fire-fighting equipment
- Fire safety equipment checks
- The principles of fire risk control:
– Key elements for effective fire risk management
– Active and passive risk control measures
– Fire prevention measures
Candidates are assessed by a 30 question multiple choice exam with a maximum time allowance of one hour.
On successful completion of the course, candidates will achieve a Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness. Certificates are usually posted within 20 days from completion of the exam.
£40 per person for OCVA Members
£50 per person from a charitable organisation who are not OCVA members
£65 per person from a non-charitable organisation
There are no entry requirements for this course, but you will need to be able to read and understand as well as write English.
