Volunteering is beneficial to an individual to help give something back or to develop skills. For an employer it helps them to achieve their organisational mission.   If you are out of work and volunteer or you recruit volunteers it may be unclear as to rules surrounding volunteering while claiming state benefits.  This session will provide information on what those rules are to ensure volunteers meet their benefit requirements.

What will I learn?training

By the end of this session you will:

  • Understand the concept of volunteering
  • Know the different benefits and the amount of time that can be spent volunteering when claiming benefits
  • Be able ask questions about benefits that you were afraid to ask
  •  Highlight the expenses and allowances for volunteers

Benefits to you

In this interactive session you will leave with a clearer understanding of what volunteering is and know how volunteering may or may not affect your benefit entitlement.
