We are delighted to announce this year’s South and Vale Voluntary and Community Sector Forum will be taking place on Wednesday 15th March 2017 from 9.15am to 4.15pm at Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot.
This event is aimed at voluntary and community organisations and groups who work across South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse.
This free one day event is organised jointly by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils and OCVA (Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action). The aim of the forum is to bring people together from across the districts to learn from each other about best practice and to find out what is happening in the sector. You can hear updates from the Leaders at South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils and there will be senior OCVA and Oxfordshire County Council representatives. Our key note speakers include a business and voluntary sector specialist who will talk to us about working better together to save money, and a charity director who will give some useful tips for how to get the best out of your volunteers. You will have the opportunity to participate in a facilitated information session to talk with us and with other delegates about the issues that are affecting your organisation and to share some ideas and good practice.
During the facilitated information session you will have time to meet other delegates and there will be other networking opportunities throughout the day during the scheduled breaks and during registration. Over the lunch period we are running a funding and information fair so you can speak with a range of large and small local and national funders to find out about funding opportunities and tips for applying, and learn more about the sector. A free lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the event.
Part of the day will be dedicated to a series of training sessions following up on some of the mornings’ themes, volunteering and working together. Delegates are invited to participate in two training sessions of their choice that will challenge thinking and provide practical information and techniques to some key areas of your work and help strengthen your organisation.
Although this is a free event we do need you to reserve your place to secure your two training sessions. To register please visit the following link which will provide details of the full programme, https://ocva.org.uk/south-and-vale-forum-2017/. You can register up to three people from your organisation, as space at the event is limited and we want to encourage as many organisations as possible to attend.
There are good public transport links to Cornerstone Arts Centre either by bus or train. If you are driving to the event please refer to https://www.cornerstone-arts.org/directions-and-maps for details on where you can secure long term parking. Please allow enough time for your journey and to find parking and get to the venue.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us using the subject heading ‘South and Vale VCS Forum’ and email email@example.com or call 01865 251946.
We hope you will be able to join us for what should be an informative, thought provoking and interesting day.
On behalf of OCVA, South Oxfordshire District Council and Vale of White Horse District Council,
Gillian Warson (OCVA, Collaboration and Communications Officer)
