Emergency First Aid at Work

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.

This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable number of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

This course will be held in person at OCVA in The Source training room.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course meets the requirements of the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and is nationally recognised, designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

During this 1-day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

The course is delivered within a day over a 7 hour period. There will be a continuous assessment throughout by the trainer. Upon successful completion, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher

Delivered by UK’s largest vocational training provider Tutor Care, who are approved and accredited by a range of legislative bodies to ensure your organisation remains compliant with the latest rules and regulations.
