Emergency First Aid at Work – Level 3

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.

This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

During this 1 day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

Resuscitation Council (UK) updated guidelines 2015

All our First Aid courses include the new resuscitation guidelines published in October 2015 by The Resuscitation Council (UK) following the review of resuscitation science by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR).

Assessment

Candidates undertake 3 practical assessments during the course plus a multiple choice exam at the end of the course.

Certification

On successful completion of the course, candidates will achieve a Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work from Qualsafe. The qualification is valid for 3 years but annual refreshers are considered best practice. qualifications for City & Guilds as well as being a published author and public speaker.

Cost

The course costs per person are inclusive of exam and registration fees. Delegates will also receive a Qualsafe Emergency First Aid Made Easy book.

Pre-requisites:

There are no entry requirements for this course, but you will need to be able to read and understand as well as write English.

1.45am arrival for tea, coffee and networking for a 2.00pm start. The workshop will finish by 5.00pm.

  • £70 per person for OCVA Members
  • £80 per person from a charitable organisation who are not OCVA members
  • £95 per person from a non-charitable organisation
