Most organisations are financed through grants and other external funding sources.This course is designed to enable those involved with managing grants and external funding to become more efficient and effective in the financial management of such funds. 

This course is designed to equip the participants with best practices and essentials skills in effective grants/external funding management.

This course will be held online using Zoom.

What will I learn?


At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Ensure compliance with funder requirements in terms of managing grants/external funding
  • Address the critical aspects of managing grant finances
  • Understand how to effectively report grants management progress to relevant Managers/Trustees
  • Understand the difference between various types of funding (Unrestricted or general funds/Restricted funds/Designated funds/Endowment funds)


Maureen Elliott is a retired accountant who had a career in local government finance in both Ireland and England. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and is currently the Treasurer of OCVA.
