An essential session for those responsible for managing volunteers.
This informative and engaging workshop will highlight the key areas to be aware of, and tips to make sure you are adhering to your responsibilities in protecting volunteer’s rights.
The aim of this session is to provide you with a clearer understanding of your responsibilities in protecting volunteers. This workshop will introduce you to volunteering and explain the intricacy of volunteer’s rights, agreements, expenses and other regulations.
OCVA’s Volunteer Co-ordinator will use practical exercises, real life examples and current advice to guide you through the process of acquiring volunteers and developing volunteer agreements. There will be useful tips provided on developing an agreement that reflects the role and the volunteer’s responsibilities, without creating a contract. You will also have an opportunity to enhance your knowledge of best practice in managing volunteers to achieve these guidelines.
This is a pro-active workshop, designed to break down the complexities of these regulations and leave you feeling reassured in your responsibilities and management of volunteers.
By the end of this session you will be able to
- Be able to define what volunteering is
- Know the difference between a volunteer and an employee
- Have a clearer understanding of volunteer’s rights
- Know the difference between a contract versus an agreement
- Have an awareness of volunteer agreements
