Role summary:

We’re looking for a Health & Wellbeing lead to head up an exciting set of projects on the Barton estate, leading volunteers and managing programmes to meet the health & wellbeing needs of the local community. It is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team supporting a diverse group of people facing varying needs.

Job location (usual place of work):  BARTON (OX3)

Pay Rate: £28,000

Is pay pro rata: Yes

Hours: Part Time (2.5 days, Ideally Mon-Weds)

Contract is: Fixed term One Year Fixed term with potential to extend

Job description: The Health & Wellbeing Lead at Love Barton is a new, part-time leadership role responsible for overseeing and developing community health and wellbeing initiatives on the Barton estate in Oxford. Working closely with the Charity Director, the postholder will manage key projects including a listening service for people experiencing emotional challenges, creative groups with therapeutic art activities, an emergency food bank, and a family food pantry. The role involves:
-recruiting, training and supporting volunteers
– building partnerships with local organisations
– providing pastoral support
– managing project budgets
– evaluating impact
– helping to secure future funding

Love Barton is a Christian charity focused on tackling poverty, improving mental health, strengthening families, and helping the local community flourish. We are looking for a practising Christian with strong leadership, volunteer management, and relationship-building skills, alongside experience working with disadvantaged communities in areas such as mental health, family support, community work, or pastoral care. The successful candidate will be compassionate, organised, self-motivated, and committed to both personal and spiritual development while representing the charity within the wider community.
