Role summary:
Age UK Oxfordshire are a local independent charity who wants everyone to be able to live life to the full. The Physical Activity service contributes to this mission by supporting older adults to maintain health, mobility and independence, to keep doing what they love for longer.
We deliver a variety of tailored opportunities to be active across Oxfordshire. A current focus is our falls prevention work, where we are supporting older adults to be active so they can reduce their risk of falling or for those who have fallen, enabling them to regain their confidence and be steadier on their feet.
Job location (usual place of work): Community and Horton Hospital based (Cherwell)
Pay Rate: £14.14 – £15.14

Hours: Part time – 21 – 35 hours a week (Monday – Friday)

Job description:
1. Deliver group-based falls prevention exercise classes and related education sessions in community settings.
2. Conduct participant triage, both in person and by telephone, ensuring people are directed to the most appropriate service or intervention.
3. Carry out baseline and completion assessments and support participants throughout their programme.
4. Encourage attendance, motivation and long-term engagement with physical activity.
5. Manage the day-to-day organisation and administration of your classes, including participant communication, attendance monitoring, assessments, and maintaining accurate records in line with organisational and funder requirements.
6. Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and colleagues to provide safe, effective and person-centred support.
7. Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with health and safety, safeguarding and organisational policies.
8. Contribute to the ongoing development and success of our physical activity services.
