We are pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Thorne to the position of Chief Executive.
Anna is an experienced charity leader who has worked with community-led projects in Oxfordshire for over twenty-five years including at CAG Oxfordshire, Oxford Hub, OXPIP, Flo’s the Place in the Park, and Donnington Doorstep Family Centre. She brings a wealth of expertise to the CEO role, including governance, strategic development and organisational sustainability.
As well as charity leadership, Anna’s experience includes chairing trustee boards, sitting on advisory groups and grant-making panels, and developing community and multi-agency partnerships.
Anna joins OCVA at a crucial moment for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector in Oxfordshire and West Berkshire with the Government’s most recent announcement on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), proposing to consult and move forward with three new unitary councils.
Anna has expressed delight at her appointment: “Taking on the leadership of OCVA is a great privilege. I am delighted to be working with the OCVA team and our partners to continue to meet the needs of our VCFSE sector. The LGR process will create opportunities as well as challenges, and I am committed to ensuring that our sector’s many voices, particularly those seldom heard, contribute to the design and development of the new structures and services.”
Robert Buckeldee, Chair of OCVA Trustees said: “We are very pleased with the appointment of Anna, who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the VCFSE sector. We look forward to supporting her in the role and working with her to shape the strategy for the organisation.”
