If you have responsibility for managing volunteers in Oxfordshire, then our monthly Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum is for you!
This informal group enables Volunteer Managers and Co-ordinators to come together to share experiences and skills, while offering some ongoing learning opportunities. It is open to any voluntary and community sector organisation in Oxfordshire.
1-2pm, online
Phil and Hilary are from Kilkenny Lane Country parkrun, part of a global movement encouraging communities to come together for a free 5km event in green spaces. Participants can choose to run, jog, Jeff or walk the course, supported by a team of volunteers. The Kilkenny event is currently raising awareness of the joys of volunteering at a parkrun event; boosting mental wellbeing, gaining a sense of purpose and finding a new community and friends, to say the least. Phil and Hilary will be talking more about these benefits, and seeking advice on engaging communities in volunteering to build their core team.
Wednesday 18 November 1.30pm-2.30pm
The Style Acre tea room, London road, Blewbury ox11 9HB – on the premises of Savages in Blewbury
Kadee will be joining from Style Acre, a South Oxfordshire charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in their local communities. Kadee will be talking about their work programme where they help their individuals to access meaningful volunteering and employment opportunities. They are looking for organisations and business who can create or offer accessible opportunities that enable individuals to build confidence and develop work related skills in a supportive environment.
Please email Maya to suggest agenda items, speakers, share information or ask for support needs in future meetings.
