Christmas Message from our CEO

December 15, 2025

Christmas message from our CEO, Laura Price.

As we approach the end of 2025, I have been reflecting on what has shaped this year. Once again, it has been a privilege to witness the effort, creativity and heart that our sector brings to communities across Oxfordshire. It has also been an incredibly tough year for staff, volunteers and VCSE leaders who have faced rising demand for support and a challenging funding landscape. The mental load carried across this empathetic sector should never be underestimated.

Alongside those challenges, there have been many bright spots that deserve celebration. I have seen strong and meaningful collaboration between organisations, inspiring volunteer-led projects, and new partnerships forming and strengthening across health, local government and communities.

Christmas message

There has been real creativity in how people are meeting local needs, as well as impressive innovation in how organisations measure and communicate their impact. I have also been encouraged by funders who are making significant efforts to reach communities more effectively and adopt more inclusive and accessible practices.

These bright spots motivate me as I look ahead to the possibilities of 2026. As the holiday period arrives, I hope you are able to take some time for rest and connection. We know this season is different for everyone, and while for some it may be a time of celebration, for others it may be quieter or more challenging. My hope is that you find moments of calm and renewal in whatever way is most meaningful for you.

Wishing you a peaceful end to the year and a hopeful start to 2026. To all the staff, volunteers, trustees and funders who keep our sector moving forward, thank you for everything you do.

Please note that our office will be closed from 4pm on 23rd December 2025 and will re-open on Monday 5th January 2026. If you need support during that time, our website has a range of helpful resources.
