Connected Communities: Ducklington Warm Space

April 16, 2026

From wearing Warm Colours for Beat the Blues Day to Easter crafts and shared lunches, Ducklington’s Warm Welcome Space is about so much more than activities, it’s about bringing people together.

What began as a small weekly gathering has blossomed into a vital community hub where people feel welcomed, valued and heard. Visitors come from Ducklington, Witney and villages nearby, seeking a friendly, familiar space to connect and chat.

On New Year’s Day, volunteers kept the doors open on a bank holiday, unsure if anyone would come. Seventeen people visited simply because they didn’t want to be alone. Many hadn’t seen anyone since Christmas Day. It’s a powerful reminder of community-led kindness.
Thanks to Connected Communities funding, Ducklington Warm Welcome Space can keep growing and supporting those who need it, with 30 regular attendees and counting.

Connected Communities is funded by Oxfordshire County Council (Adult Social Care) and delivered in partnership with OCVA and Community First Oxfordshire.
