OCVA Team Update 22nd April

April 22, 2026

It’s been a few weeks since our last update and we’ve welcomed two new team members – more to come on that soon!

Last week, Laura had the pleasure of visiting The Dawes Trust in London to share the ongoing impact and future plans for our Bullingdon Community Connections work. She ended the week with a fantastic get-together at The Hill in Banbury for the Oxfordshire Voluntary and Civic Leaders Group. They heard from Lorraine about the great work happening at The Hill, followed by a presentation from Makena Lohr on the work she has been doing alongside Annie Davy to develop community hubs. If you’d like to hear more about this, do book to attend Future Connected: the power of community hubs.

Last Thursday, Vicki joined over 60 other time-travellers and headed to 2036 with Rob Hopkins and Oxfordshire Liveable Streets.  A fantastic opportunity to envisage how we’d like our streets and neighbourhoods to work in the near future. This time to step away from the desk and think creatively is absolutely essential to unlock our dreams and imagine the world we long to be a part of – a first step to making it our reality. Anti-cynicism serum and disbelief suspenders at the ready!

Jenny headed to South Oxfordshire to attend the funding surgery in Didcot with Oxfordshire Community Foundation and South Oxfordshire District Council. She spoke to nine local groups looking for funding guidance and offered some group development advice too. There will be another session soon in Holton on 6th May.

Danielle enjoyed meeting with other organisations at the Measuring Up course last Wednesday. The group delved into how we can show the impact of our work beyond data and output, focusing on the outcomes that demonstrate meaningful impact.
