FUNDING: Barchester Charitable Foundation

July 21, 2026

Funding is available for small community groups, small local charities and community health professionals supporting older people, adults with disabilities and adults with mental health conditions to connect, or reconnect, with others in their local community.

Barchester Foundation

The fund supports projects that reduce isolation and loneliness and help people to be active, engaged and involved. Eligible group activities can include activity projects, equipment or materials for members, transport costs, day trips, outings and UK group holidays.

How to apply

Group grants range from £100 to £2,600 and are available to organisations based in England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey. Applications are considered through quarterly funding windows in January, April, July and October, with the next round open from 1 to 31 July 2026 and decisions expected in the second half of September. Applicants should read the funder’s guidance on who and what they fund before applying.

Core running costs, salaries, venue hire, building work, staff or volunteer training, retrospective costs and repeat funding within three years of a successful award are not eligible. Interested groups are encouraged to prepare early and submit during the relevant quarterly window.
