Berinsfield Community Café Opens

October 7, 2025

A brand new community café has officially opened its doors in the heart of Berinsfield – and local residents couldn’t be happier.

Built and launched by local charity The Berin Centre, The Burrow Community Café is already proving a hit thanks to its warm and modern design with a fresh, affordable menu.

Built with input from local residents, the building boasts impressive green credentials including solar panels, an air source heat pump, and sustainable materials throughout. The café is also part
of a wider project by The Berin Centre to reduce food waste, using surplus from their Community Larder and home-grown produce from its Community Kitchen Garden.

“It’s something that’s been needed for a long time. I live on my own and I come here two days a week and order the soup – it’s a nice hot lunch. It’s a great thing!”
Fred Tidmarsh (aged 89), Berinsfield Resident

“It’s wonderful to see this project realised and so many people from the community enjoying it. Brilliant coffee, excellent cake!”
Stephanie Foreman, Dorchester Resident

Alongside the regular café menu, there are plans to host cooking workshops and seasonal community events, making the space a true hub for connection and creativity.
