Job title: Home-Start Group Worker

Role summary: We are a charity supporting families with young children through home-visiting by volunteers, and group work, and have been running for over 35 years. We are offering an exciting opportunity to work with families.

We are looking for a person with excellent people-skills to run our two existing Didcot groups (a weekly drop-in group for parents and their babies up to 15 months old, and a weekly referral-only group for families who need a small group setting), as well as planning and instigating a third group in the near future (see job pack for details).

Our ideal candidate will:

  • believe that children should have the best possible start in life
  • have an understanding of the needs of children and families
  • be able to provide play opportunities encouraging positive interaction between parents and children
  • be able to assess and describe the benefits to children from attending a group.
  • have knowledge of safeguarding procedures

An early years or other relevant professional qualification would be an advantage, but is not essential. Please note that our groups run during term-time and school holidays.

Job location: Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire, 197 Broadway, Didcot. OX11 8RU

Pay Rate: ÂŁ26,824 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 15, worked on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and AN Other by agreement (job share considered, for the right candidate/s)

Contract is: Permanent
