Last week OCVA and Community First Oxfordshire hosted an in-person Let’s Talk Volunteering session at Cogges Manor Farm in Witney.
The group of volunteers, volunteer managers and other interested parties came together for a morning of networking, breakout spaces and speakers. We were joined by Volunteer Link Up manager Barry Beadle who gave a thought-provoking presentation on their work with asylum seekers. We also heard from Abingdon and Witney college’s curriculum manager Trace Senior who spoke about the importance and opportunity in volunteer training.
Finally, Mr Ron Spurs DL, His Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire gave a heartwarming speech about the impact of volunteering in Oxfordshire.
One of our participants told us-
“A fabulous venue and great to hear from two very interesting presenters. It was particularly useful to connect with others working in volunteering. Thank you!”
