Volunteering in Oxfordshire
Want to volunteer? We are here to help you find an opportunity:
There are thousands of organisations looking for volunteers across Oxfordshire, and we will do our best to help you find your dream role. The ways we can help are:
1. Volunteering website
- Visit the countywide volunteering website Oxonvolunteers.org. This website is designed to link you to your perfect volunteering opportunity as well as providing one central place for groups to advertise their wonderful opportunities. Click here to register and search for opportunities by keyword, activity, or cause. It’s as simple as that!
Like our Facebook page. We update this regularly with news of charities in need, photos celebrating your efforts and other relevant information. Feel free to use this space to tell us about the amazing volunteering you are doing, so that we can celebrate it!Newsletter
- 3. Newsletter
- Sign up to the Oxfordshire Volunteers newsletter. You will receive a monthly update of the latest opportunities in Oxfordshire, as well as being able to find out about events and training which may be of interest.
- 4. Come in and see us!
If you need a little inspiration, or some help searching for opportunities, we hold two Introduction to Volunteering sessions a month. The sessions cover the benefits of volunteering, how to get involved, what to expect, and the range of opportunities available, including examples. These sessions include a presentation about volunteering lasting 20 minutes, followed by an opportunity for questions and support. If you’d like to come to a session, we encourage you to let us know first: give us a call on 01865 251946, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Sessions will take place at OCVA, Floyds Row, St Aldates, OX1 1SS, at the following times:
- Second Wednesday of the month: 10.30 am
- Fourth Wednesday of the month: 1.00 pm
Please note these sessions are for people who live in the City of Oxford, South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse. If you live in West Oxfordshire, contact Volunteer Link Up. If you live in Cherwell, contact Volunteer Connect.
OCVA believe that volunteering must be inclusive, so run some one-to-one volunteer appointments for volunteers with additional support needs (on a self-defined basis). To register interest in a one-to-one appointment, give us a call on 01865 251946, or email email@example.com.
The Volunteer Centre on tour
We regularly attend jobs fairs and volunteering fairs and keep our Facebook page updated with the places we are visiting around the County.
We also keep a blog with updates about volunteering in Oxfordshire and accounts of what we’ve been up to!
Want us to visit you? We’re more than happy to bring our Introduction to Volunteering sessions or run a drop-in at your school, college, charity, or place of work! (For larger organisations, a charge may apply to cover our cost). Just get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org or 01865 251946, with at least 2 weeks’ notice.
