We have two main ways we support trustee recruitment.
Our first is through the Oxfordshire Trustee Leadership list which is supported by the lieutenancy. This list of people has been collected by the lieutenancy and contains the names of those with strong organisational backgrounds who are looking for trustee roles. Charities complete the template on our website, send it over to our communications inbox and the information is sent to the list regularly.
Please note, the Oxfordshire trustee leadership list is only for registered charities. The list cannot be used for community interest companies, community benefit societies or for educational governor positions.
To send details to this list, complete this form: Template for organisations OTLL and email to our communications inbox.
Our second method is via Oxon Volunteers. All volunteer roles can be uploaded onto the website via a provider account. The roles are then shared to the site’s newsfeed, which attracts an average of 4,000 visitors per month! Roles also feature in our weekly mailshot to subscribers, as well as on Oxon Volunteers social media pages.
Externally there are sites such as:
The Honorary Treasurer’s Forum
You can also use platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed.
NCVO have interesting articles on topics like the legal duties of trustees and the charity commission have a suite of articles from being a trustee and what’s involved to finding and appointing trustees.
At OCVA we offer the How to Be a Good Trustee course as well as a broader course on Recruitment and Retention of Volunteers.
Free training courses are offered through our partnership with Abingdon and Witney College for all volunteers.
Please email us if you would like further support on trustee recruitment.
