Volunteers Week 2026

Volunteers Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the amazing work that hundreds of volunteers do across Oxfordshire week in, week out.

Throughout Volunteers Week, we’ll be highlighting different ways to volunteer and why you might consider giving it a try.

Our Volunteer Drop-In offers you the chance to speak with us about what volunteering entails and the kind of role you’re looking for. We can show you around Oxon Volunteers and help to get you started on your volunteering path.

Come chat to us on Wednesday 3rd June from 10am to 12pm.

Location: The Source (next to OCVA offices), Floyds Row, Oxford, OX1 1SS.

We’ll also be sharing information on our socials so keep an eye out during the week commencing 1st June!

Volunteer Frankie gave us a peek into her role volunteering at a pig sanctuary.

“I first started volunteering with Curly Tails by helping with fundraising and marketing.

“I’ve always loved pigs, so being able to support a charity that cares for them felt like a really natural fit.

“Over time, that volunteering led to me working one day a week as a fundraiser, which is such a lovely full-circle moment. But I still volunteer alongside that, because I really care about the charity and the work it does.”

“Volunteering has always been a big part of my life. I’m also a trustee for an astronomy charity, a media volunteer for the Miscarriage Association, I support Fertility Action, and I sit on my local grants panel.

“I just really love charities and the charity sector. For me, volunteering is a way to use your skills, support causes you care about and feel part of something bigger.

“So, for Volunteers’ Week, I’d say: whatever your skills or interests are, there’s probably a charity out there that would really value them.”
