VACANCY: Oxford Hub – Community Youth and Family Practitioner

June 22, 2026

Job title: Community Youth and Family Practitioner

Role summary: We’re launching an exciting new role that brings together The Oxford Academy, its local community and Oxford Hub to support young people and families in a completely fresh way.

As our Community Youth and Family Practitioner, you’ll work in the school, in the neighbourhood and alongside families, using a social prescribing approach to help children and young people access the support, relationships and opportunities that help them thrive.

This is not traditional casework. It’s relational, community‑rooted and strengths‑based, designed to remove barriers early and build trusted, long‑term relationships. You’ll walk alongside families, understand what matters to them, and connect them with the right support at the right time — whether that’s in school, in the community, or through local groups and services.

If you’re passionate about wellbeing, early help, community connection and doing things differently, this is your chance to shape a brand‑new approach in Oxford.

More info is available on their website.

Location: Based between Windale, their main community hub in The Leys (OX4) and The Oxford Academy.

Hours: 4 days per/wk (30hrs)

Salary: £30,523 FTE, pro rata’d (£24,418 per annum for 4 days a week)

Closing Date: Monday 20th July

Interview date: 27th/ 28th July
