VACANCY: CEO – Oxfordshire Community Voluntary Action – Chief Executive Officer

July 7, 2026

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer OCVA Site Logo

Overview:

After nearly six years of leadership, our CEO, Laura, will be stepping down at the end of August to take up a new national charity leadership role.

During her time with OCVA, the organisation has continued to grow and evolve, strengthening its work with community groups and organisations across Oxfordshire, investing in volunteering, championing local infrastructure, and deepening our role as a trusted partner of the Oxfordshire ecosystem.

Laura will remain in post until the end of August and is working closely with the Board to ensure a smooth and positive transition. The Board would like to thank her for her leadership, commitment, and contribution over the past six years.

This is an exciting moment for OCVA and for the wider voluntary and community sector, which is experiencing significant change alongside new opportunities and challenges. It is against this backdrop that we are now seeking a new Chief Executive to build on strong foundations and help shape the organisation’s next chapter.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-respected local infrastructure charity at the heart of Oxfordshire’s communities. Working alongside a committed Board, dedicated staff team, and a wide network of partners to support and strengthen the local voluntary and community sector. The successful candidate will inherit a values-led organisation with a clear purpose and the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

All applications must be made through CharityJob.

Closing date: Midday Wednesday 5 August
Shortlisting: Wednesday 12 August
Initial first stage interviews: Thursday 20 August, in person at the OCVA office.
